‘Although I am already a colour pencil artist, I had never really used oil paints before. Chris took me right through from the basics of oil paints and mediums (including how they are made up and their characteristics) to initial sketches and composition, the colour wheel and colour mixing, and then practical techniques with using the oil paints themselves. Chris takes the time to understand where you are and your ability, and encourages you at an appropriate rate while also pushing you on where he knows you can do it. Chris will also encourage you to experiment with painting; to be relaxed about it and have fun! Chris is very personable, and I would recommend anyone thinking about taking a workshop to just do it. Our workshops are primarily designed for beginners and those progressing to the next level. We believe your tutor is skilled enough to help you through all the workshops we offer. Our gallery will welcome a chat with you about your skills level prior to booking . The groups are deliberately small, 6 or less which means we can offer closer help and encouragement for you.

YOUR TUTOR

Christopher Delni Offord is a professional artist has been painting for nearly 30 years and was trained privately by the renowned artist Stan Harrington and later with Dennis Sheehan whose works hang in the White House. Chris specialises in oil paints, has exhibited at major exhibitions in the UK and sold worldwide. He has a background in training adults and his passion is to see people enjoy art at all levels. This has inspired him to create iPrice.

iPrice is a Social Enterprise scheme designed by Chris Delni Offord, making art tuition accessible and affordable to all. iPrice allows those who are financially struggling to decide how much they can afford to pay on selected workshops with our iPrice logo. iPrice is helped by a bursary fund set up by Chris and Sue Offord and the generosity of attendees who might choose to pay a little more to support those who can’t.

Chris has appeared in a 3 page article in Wiltshire Life Magazine and has had one of his paintings on the front cover of a new book by Professor Ogle of Harvard University, USA, printed by Cambridge University Press. The book studies the life of Saint Augustine and the Title ‘City of God’ perfectly fitted with Chris’ painting ‘City of God’ which represented the spiritual contrast of the earthly realm and the heavenly hope.

Chris has also worked alongside shirt maker to celebrities and Royals, Emma Willis MBE DL on her exhibition ‘Art in the Aftermath’ in La Galleria, Pall Mall, London and Gloucester.

We are fortunate to be situated at the heart of Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Complex which includes free parking, 2 cafe’s, Garden Centre, Animal Zoo Park, Farm shop, Children’s soft play park, independent shops/crafts. There are toilet facilities and disabled access with facilities all on one level.

Currently we supply all materiel’s but please feel free to bring your own equipment if you prefer. We specialise only in oil painting and drawing.
